Overview of import-export waste regulation

  • management regulation shall receive a import-export permission of hazardous waste only by Basel Convention about Act on The Control of Transboundary Movement of Hazardous Wastes and Their Disposal(Permission regulation)
  • For other wastes, they have the possession of thoughtless import-export and environmental pollution by improperly disposal and international conflict so permission and report regulation has been operating for a person who imports or exports wastes noticed by the Ministry of Environment.

  • Wastes under Republic of Korea’s Domestic Law(A)

    • The term “wastes” means such materials as garbage, burnt refuse, sludge, waste oil, waste acid, waste alkali, and carcasses of animals, which have become no longer useful for human life or business activities
